NASHVILLE, TN — Marcus Webb, 31, a supply chain coordinator from Nashville, went viral this week after a short video in which he responded to six trending controversies in a row with a measured “I honestly don’t have strong feelings about that,” generating 2.3 million followers and a preliminary book deal from an imprint that normally publishes manifestos.
The clip, originally posted as a response to a friend’s challenge, features Webb calmly declining to weigh in on seven consecutive topics, including a celebrity feud, a political confirmation hearing, a fast food menu change, and a theological dispute between two podcasters with overlapping Venn diagrams of audience. His demeanor throughout was described by viewers as “almost suspicious,” “deeply countercultural,” and “possibly medicated.”
“I just don’t think I need to have a position on everything that happened today,” Webb said. “Some things can just… exist.”
“I cried,” said Danielle Ochoa, 28, a content strategist from Austin who shared the video to all seven of her platforms. “I didn’t know men could do that.”
A media analyst who covers online trends noted that Webb’s appeal may stem from what he called “weaponized epistemic humility,” adding that his engagement metrics were outperforming accounts that post twelve opinions before breakfast. Webb’s agent confirmed he is currently being approached for a podcast, a speaking tour, and a limited-run candle line. Webb said he hadn’t decided yet whether he wanted to do any of it.
At press time, Webb had posted a single follow-up video saying “I’ve been thinking, and I still don’t know,” which became his highest-performing content to date.
