About The Daily Babel
Our Mission
The prophets used irony. Jesus used parables. We use headlines.
The Daily Babel is a faith-based satire publication that uses humor to illuminate truth, challenge assumptions, and strengthen faith. Every article is written with a simple conviction: laughter and belief aren’t opposites — they’re allies.
We cover the news of the day through a satirical lens, but always with a faith message woven in. Each story closes with a Scripture passage — a reminder that even when we’re laughing, we’re still listening.
Why Satire?
Satire has a long and holy pedigree. Elijah mocked the prophets of Baal. Nathan told David a story that turned out to be about David. The Book of Jonah is, among other things, deeply funny. Humor has always been one of the ways God’s people have told the truth when the truth is hard to hear.
We believe satire, done well, is an act of love. It invites people to laugh at what deserves laughter — including ourselves — and in doing so, clears a little space for grace.
What We Are Not
We are not a real news source. Our articles are fictional. Any resemblance to actual persons, churches, denominations, or mid-service bathroom breaks is purely coincidental (and probably inevitable).
We are also not cynical. There’s a difference between laughing at the faith and laughing within it. We aim for the latter — always.
The Name
At the Tower of Babel, humanity tried to reach heaven through its own ambition and ended up talking past each other. Thousands of years later, not much has changed. The Daily Babel reports from the rubble — finding the humor in our ongoing attempts to build towers, and the grace that meets us when they fall.
